Hi everyone, today I thought we'd talk about something I and anyone else who is interested in creative outlets experience, creativity blocks. This is basically when you don't know what to create and just generally feel uninspired, and it can make you question if your really enjoy whatever it is you're creating.
For me personally writer's block is what I experience the most of. Sometimes it feels like I could write a whole book there and then and other times there's just absolutely nothing I can think to write. This makes me doubt whether writing is something I enjoy or am interested in, if I can't come up with something to write all the time, is this the right thing for me? The important thing to learn is that even people who write for a careers will go through long writer's block where they don't know what to write. Expecting yourself to always be able to tap into that creativity isn't realistic.
But what can you do to try to get back into your creative pursuits? My first suggestion is to look at other people's art and get inspired. Whether it's reading a book, or looking at someone else's artwork, seeing other people share their creativity can help inspire you to create your own work.
My second piece of advice is to try a new creative outlet. I've recently started getting into drawing and it's a nice way to be creative when I don't want to write. It gives you a new area to focus on and more creative outlets so if you're having a block in one, you have another one to potentially work on.
Overall though I think the most important thing is to not be hard on yourselves. There are times when you're just constantly creating and other times when it's a challenge and you don't feel inspired, and nothing is wrong with that. It's better to take your time and wait for inspiration to strike rather than force yourself to create and burn yourself out even more. Just be patient and you'll be back to creating in no time.
